Our New Faculty Members for 2014-2015

We have added four new teachers to our school. Please join me in welcoming Jen, Katharine, Warren and Corey to our faculty.

Grew up in Putnam County, and started dancing at the age of three taking ballet and tap and developed her love for hip-hop, jazz, pointe, and lyrical.  She took classes throughout high school. Into her junior she started teaching ballet, lyrical, tap and jazz to all ages. She continued to dance at Westchester Community College getting her degree in performing arts, being versed in choreography, ballet, Modern, jazz, and jazz musical theater. She is also a member of the Westchester modern dance company, Danceworks. Now, apart of  The Studio, she said, “I am looking forward to passing on my knowledge to students willing to learn and can only hope that they build a love for dance like I have.”

Teach­ing has always been of top pri­or­ity in Katharine’s career! She is a Fac­ulty mem­ber of Peri­d­ance Capezio Cen­ter in NYC, Inter­Rhythm Arts Inten­sives in New Hamp­shire and con­tin­ues to teach Tap, Jazz, Mod­ern and Musi­cal The­ater right along­side her chore­o­graphic work! Nova
Nova

Corey “Nova” Grimes is a multi-talented singer, song writer, recording artist, and dancer from Brooklyn, NY.  He is now a member of  Time Travel Muziq, an independent Hip Hop/R&B group out of Connecticut as their R/B vocalist and has performed around the country spreading his love for performance art to audiences large and small with a loyal following onReverbNation.com.

He is teaching as a guest faculty member at the Broadway Dance Center in New York City. With his unique approach to the hip-hop choreography scene, Nova combines the foundation’s from each element of hip-hop and blends it with a polished performance flare.  Stemming from the dance group AMOUNTBOYZ, this Brooklyn native has worked with major recording artists like Jay-Z, Amerie, The Roots, P Diddy and many more.

Con­certs and Indus­tri­als for ABC Day­time and Mac. Proud mem­ber of Actors’ Equity Association.

Warren was a featured performer for UNICEF’s 50th Anniversary Celebration at the Metropolitan Club in NY. Other New York credits include Metro Manhattan and UNICEF’s Bal Masque. Feature films, Two Weeks Notice w/ Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant and Stepford Wives with Nicole Kidman.

The energy that these teachers bring will be a great addition to The Studio. Our belief in developing the skills of our students to learn dance and enjoy it for a lifetime shall continue with our newest members.
